I like computers, but I'm not what you'd call a "hobbyist." I see computers purely as a tool and not an obsession, so I'm not willing to spend egregious amounts of money to be on the bleeding edge of technological advancement. As a result, up until recently my machines were a bit old, and that was okay, because they did what I needed them to do and nothing more. I've since found time and finances to upgrade the machines, even though they still aren't the fastest around.
